Middlebury College: Tim Parsons

The grounds department at Middlebury College oversees approximately 200 acres of campus, including 90 acres of athletic fields, 16 miles of sidewalk, 21 acres of parking lots, and an urban forest of 2600 individually maintained trees. We have a collection of over 30 heritage elm trees we vigilantly protect from Dutch Elm disease, and some are well over 150 years old.

Our department won the 2009 Grand Honor Award from Green Works in Landscape/Garden Maintenance-Commercial. There are 15 full time members in our department, and 5 employed seasonally.
