Experience an enchanting twilight tour and talk at the McCarthy Arts Center, Saint Michael’s College, Colchester, VT.

Event Details:

• Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Location: McCarthy Arts Center, Saint Michael’s College, Colchester, VT -18 campus rd, Colchester VT
• Limited Space: Please note that space is limited; drop-ins cannot be accommodated.
• Duration: Plan for approximately 2 hours. For those arriving late, you can catch up with us at Merrill Cemetery (also in Colchester) around 6:15-6:20 PM. Park by the grass verge.

Tour Highlights:

• Campus Plantings: Explore recent campus plantings, including interplanting between ash trees and the introduction of diverse native trees in place of exotic species.
• Floral Transition: Learn about the transition from annuals to perennial flowers.
• Natural Area: After about 15 minutes on campus, we’ll cross the street to the natural area. Here, you’ll witness:
  • The transition from corn production to natural regeneration.
  • Efforts to protect existing older growth.
  • Selective planting of deer-resistant trees.
  • Development of a food forest.
  • Installation of way-side interpretive signage.

Overall Theme: “Campus as Laboratory” – Discover the innovative approaches Saint Michael’s College is taking to create a sustainable and educational environment.
