The clients wanted a design geared towards entertaining for the backyard of their traditional style home. The challenge was to create a design that could be installed in phases, would function well and be attractive at any phase.  The three main features included a large patio for dining, fire pit and pool area. A retaining wall, necessary to accommodate the pool, helped define the living spaces by creating an upper terrace and lower pool area.

Multi-stem Amelanchier ‘Autumn Brilliance’ provide the framework and allow for visibility across the terraces.  Plantings include ornamental grasses, Hydrangea, Nepeta, Geranium and Vinca and Pachysandra used as groundcovers to reduce weeding.
